wether your using computer simulated beats, or real instruments, either way you have to start with tempo, for a beggener, its easiest to put one repitious sound like a hi-hat or a snare, one for every beat. tis-tis-tis-tis. then from there, add you bass. boom-tis-boom-boom-tis-boom. those two parts is the hardest parts. it could take minuites, or hours to find something you realy like. that is a beat. adding other stuff in there like vilons or a panio, is when you have to pick up on what chord sound good together.

start out with your 808 clap every other beat. Put in your 808 kick at on the first and third beats and on every other offbeat. now get a high hat play all the time except for on the kick. now get your instrumental going.
